Agave tequilana is an easy to grow evergreen, succulent plant forming a large rosette of leaves and, eventually, a tall flowering stem. The plant is cultivated, especially around Tequila, for the preparation of agave liqueur. It is a native of Mexico. Also called 'Blue Agave.'
Plant Care
- Light: Full sun, bright indoor light
- Water: Light watering needs. Water when soil dries out. Avoid overwatering
- Additionally: A monocarpic species. The plant lives for a number of years without flowering but dies once it does flower. However, it normally produces plenty of suckers during its life and these continue growing.
