Henna is native to northern Africa, western and southern Asia. The shiny light green leaves produce the red- orange hair and skin dye and are analgesic and antibacterial. Evidence shows it has been used for dyeing for over 6000 years. The showy and fragrant white, pink or red flowers are used to make perfume.
