Epiphyllum chrysocardium ‘Shark’ is a dramatic epiphytic cactus known for its long, deeply serrated, trailing leaves that resemble a shark’s teeth. The cascading foliage creates a bold, sculptural look that works beautifully in hanging planters or on shelves where it can spill freely. Under the right conditions, mature plants may produce large, fragrant white blooms that open at night, adding to its appeal as a statement plant.

Plant Care

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid harsh direct sun which can scorch the foliage.
  • Water: Water when the top inch or two of soil dries out; prefers consistent moisture but must have excellent drainage.
  • Additionally: Enjoys higher humidity than desert cacti, benefits from a chunky, well-draining epiphytic mix, and appreciates gentle airflow.

Pet Safety: Considered non-toxic to pets.

Price is per plant; each plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, shape, and growth habit.

Shipping FAQ's

Question - Why do I get the message "We do not ship to this destination" when trying to check out?

Answer - We don't ship every plant and product variety in store. Some items are too large and some are too sensitive to ship in the mail. You are getting that message because we don't ship one of the products in your order. More than likely there is a plant or pot that is too large to ship.

Question - Do you ship plants in the colder months?

Answer - Yes we do. We do charge an additional $3 handling fee in addition to our normal shipping and handling fees from November 1 to March 1 to cover the cost of heat packs to keep the plants warm during shipment. That fee will be added automatically into the shipping fee you see charged when checking out. We do advise you to take your plant inside as soon as possible upon delivery to avoid potential damage.

Question - Is it safe to ship plants?

Answer - We do our best to ship with the proper packing materials to keep the plant(s) in as safe a shipping environment as possible. The majority of the time, plants will ship just fine.

Question - What if I have a problem with my plant upon arrival?

Answer - Email us within 7 days of your plant arriving if you have any significant damage to your plant during shipping. We will ask for some photos to show the damage, and then we can issue a refund. After 7 days, we are not able to issue a refund. Non-plants have up to 30 days for a refund.
