Hoya ‘Sunrise’ is a beautiful hybrid of Hoya lacunosa and Hoya obscura, prized for its small, leathery leaves with prominent veining. With plenty of bright light, the foliage can develop rich bronze, red, and burgundy tones, creating a gorgeous sun-stressed effect. Its compact, trailing growth habit makes it especially nice in a hanging basket or cascading from a shelf. Mature plants can also produce clusters of fragrant white to creamy-yellow flowers that may blush pink under bright light.

Plant Care

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. A few hours of gentle direct sun can encourage the beautiful bronze and red coloration.
  • Water: Allow the potting mix to dry out well between waterings. Avoid keeping the roots consistently wet.
  • Additionally: Prefers a well-draining, airy soil mix and moderate humidity. Can be grown trailing or trained onto a small trellis.

Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.

Price is per plant; each plant is unique and may vary in size, color, leaf shape, or growth habit from the photo.

Shipping FAQ's

Question - Why do I get the message "We do not ship to this destination" when trying to check out?

Answer - We don't ship every plant and product variety in store. Some items are too large and some are too sensitive to ship in the mail. You are getting that message because we don't ship one of the products in your order. More than likely there is a plant or pot that is too large to ship.

Question - Do you ship plants in the colder months?

Answer - Yes we do. We do charge an additional $3 handling fee in addition to our normal shipping and handling fees from November 1 to March 1 to cover the cost of heat packs to keep the plants warm during shipment. That fee will be added automatically into the shipping fee you see charged when checking out. We do advise you to take your plant inside as soon as possible upon delivery to avoid potential damage.

Question - Is it safe to ship plants?

Answer - We do our best to ship with the proper packing materials to keep the plant(s) in as safe a shipping environment as possible. The majority of the time, plants will ship just fine.

Question - What if I have a problem with my plant upon arrival?

Answer - Email us within 7 days of your plant arriving if you have any significant damage to your plant during shipping. We will ask for some photos to show the damage, and then we can issue a refund. After 7 days, we are not able to issue a refund. Non-plants have up to 30 days for a refund.
